Failed in UPSC Interview: Clearing the interview is very important to get any job. Similarly, UPSC Interview is the last step in the three-stage process of Civil Services Examination or to say it is the last hurdle. UPSC exam is one of the prestigious services of the country. Candidates who are successful in this exam are recruited in IAS, IFS, IPS and many other posts.


What is the selection process?


Any candidate has to clear all the three stages (Preliminary, Main, Interview) to appear in the final merit list. The marks obtained in Mains and Interview are added and a definite cut-off is prepared. If the aggregate marks of the candidate (Main + Interview) are above the cut-off marks set by UPSC, he/she gets a chance to appear in the final merit list.

The interview process takes around 20 to 30 minutes.

 

Candidates are asked questions on matters of general interest.

 

The purpose of the interview and personality test is to assess the mental ability of the candidate.

If a candidate fails at any stage of the Civil Services Examination, the candidate has to start all over again. Unsuccessful UPSC aspirants feel discouraged and have self-doubt. If the candidate has cleared the first two stages and failed in the UPSC interview then it is very difficult to accept the failure. Failed UPSC aspirants can take a break after the results to gain confidence and motivation to start again. Candidates should reconsider their strategies and get ready to clear the exam again.
