Indian Airforce Airmen Application Form 2021 – Indian Airforce released a notification inviting unmarried male candidates for Selection Test for intake 01/2022 to join as Airmen in Group X Trades (except education instructor trade) and Group Y Trades (except IAF security and Musician Trade).
GROUP X TRADES OF IAF – includes Technical Staff such as Automobile, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical System, Structures, Propulsion, Workshop (smith/mechanical), Weapon Fitter and Non Technical Staff such as Education Instructor.
GROUP Y TRADES OF IAF – includes Technical Staff such as Communication, Automobile Technician and Non Technical Staff such as Admin, Accounts, Medical, Logistics, Ops, Meteorological, Ground Training, Environment Support Services Assistant, Indian Air Force (Security/Police), Musician.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA, Indian Airforce Airmen Application Form 2021
A. Unmarried Male
B. AGE LIMIT
Candidates born on and between 16 January 2001 and 29 December 2004are eligible.
C. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
(a) Group ‘X’ (Except Education Instructor Trade): Passed 10+2/ Equivalent examination with Math, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks – aggregate and 50% marks – English. OR Passed 3 years Diploma in Engineering in any stream from Government recognized institute with 50% marks – aggregate and 50% marks – English.
(b) Group ‘Y’ [Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades]: Passed 10+2 in any subjects with minimum 50% – aggregate and 50% – English. OR Passed 2 years vocational course with minimum 50% – aggregate and 50% – English.
(c) Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trade Only: Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with minimum 50% – aggregate and 50% – English.
Note:
Candidate eligible for Group ‘X’ examination (on the basis of intermediate/10+2) are also eligible for Group ‘Y’.
Diploma holders are eligible to appear for Group X trades only.
Education Boards listed in COBSE website as members, as on date of registration shall only be considered.
D. MEDICAL STANDARDS
Height
≥ 152.5 cms except IAF (P) and Auto Tech trades.
For IAF(P) trade -165 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 175 Cms (For other States)
For Auto Tech trade -162.5 Cms (For NE and Hill States) 165 Cms (For other States)
Chest : Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
Normal Hearing
Dental: good dental hygiene.
General Health: Without loss of any appendages; free from any active/latent/acute/chronic medical or surgical disability or infection and skin ailments.
E. OTHER ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Consumption of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic substances by candidate shall be a rejected.
Body Tattoo are not permitted, with some exceptions as given in the official notification
No beard or Moustache (exception for Sikhs)
Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/Any other Government Organisation are also eligible subject to their discharge with NO ADVERSE ENTRIES.
Candidates discharged from IAF are not eligible.
PAY SCALE/ SALARY, Indian Airforce Airmen Application Form 2021
Training – a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month. After Training:
Group ‘X’ Trades: Rs.33,100/- per month plus Dearness allowance.
Group ‘Y’ Trades: Rs. 26,900/- per month plus Dearness allowance
With some allowances and Perks.
SELECTION PROCESS, Indian Airforce Airmen Application Form 2021
Phase – I (Online Test )
(a) Group ‘X’ Trades: Duration- 60 minutes and shall comprise of English, Physics and Mathematics (10+2).
(b) Group ‘Y’ Trades: Duration – 45 minutes and shall comprise of English (10+2) and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA).
(c) Both Group ‘X’ & ‘Y’ Trades: Duration – 85 minutes.
Notes: Negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer.
Phase – II
Verification of Documents – Shortlisted candidate from Phase I have to report at the assigned centre along with the documents as mentioned in the official notification.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within 6.5 mins, 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time.
Adaptability Test I – objective type written test
Adaptability Test II as per policy in vogue.
