MBBS Admission Process

In order to secure admission to any of the top MBBS colleges in India, here are the steps that the students need to follow: 

  • Registration for Entrance: Aspirants should register by logging in to the web portal, entering the personal details like applicant name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, etc.
  • Form Filling and Documents Upload: Once the registration is done, candidates have to fill the application form online by providing personal and academic details. Post successfully filling the form, one will have to upload all the documents required.
  • Payment of NEET Application Fee: One will have to pay the application fee at the very next stage after successfully filling the form up.
  • Download Confirmation Page: After paying the application fees, If the application status shows 'Confirmed’, take a printout of the NEET 2020 application form as well as of the confirmation page.
  • Admit Card: Based on the record of details submitted, MBBS admit cards will be issued to the eligible candidates.
  • Entrance Exams: First, candidates need to appear for the MBBS degree entrance exams and qualify the entrance with a good score, so that they can rank in the merit list.
  • Counseling: The selected candidates will be invited for the counseling session based on the student’s rank. Candidates need to select the college of their choice from the colleges offered to them based on the rank they hold. Once they have opted for their preferred college, they need to present the documents authorities have asked for.

Eligibility

  • Candidates must have passed their 10+2 level of degree with 50% from any recognized board in science subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Zoology/Botany with English as the main subject for their qualifying examination.
  • Candidates must have completed the age of 17 years before seeking admission to the MBBS degree.
  • Candidates need to qualify for the required entrance exam for MBBS admissions. Students belonging to the reserved category must have a minimum percentage of 40%.
  • All the students will have to fulfill the additional eligibility conditions mentioned by the regulatory authorities for MBBS i.e. Medical Council of India (MCI).

MBBS Admission 2021

MBBS Admission 2021 for several colleges will start in June 2021. NEET is the only entrance exam conducted for admission to the MBBS course. NEET 2021 exam will be conducted in May 2021. 

  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 50% (40% for reserved category students) of marks from any recognized board with Chemistry, Physics, and Botany/Zoology as compulsory subjects in their class 12th examination.
  • Minimum age limit for NEET 2021 is 17 years old. 
  • The admission process includes a counselling session after the announcement of results.
  • NEET 2022 Syllabus will comprise topics of Biology, Chemistry and Physics, from class 11th and 12th.

MBBS Entrance Exams

NEET examination comprises 3 sections: Physics, Biology, and Chemistry. The exam involves 180 questions, in which for every correct answer you will be assigned with 4 marks whereas, for every incorrect answer 1 mark will be deducted. It is an MCQ based paper.
