Pune University students have been found to be misbehaving despite the low level of difficulty in online exams. In this exam, the paper of one subject is only 50 marks and the students have to solve it in one hour. Even though the examination process is so simple, irregularities are happening.


 





 

Savitribai Phule While the online session examination of Pune University is being conducted in multiple choice (MCQ) format in a simple manner, about 350 students have been found to be misbehaving. Questions are being raised about the academic quality of the students as they are misbehaving despite the low level of rigor of the current online exams as compared to the regular session exams.

Against the backdrop of Corona, the session examinations of Pune University started online from 10th April in a proctered manner. Exams are being held for 224 courses of the university and about six lakh students are appearing for the exams. Students can use any device such as mobile, laptop, computer at home. However, it has been found that students are taking advantage of this. In this exam, the paper of one subject is only 50 marks and the students have to solve it in one hour. Even though the examination process is so simple, irregularities are happening. Most of the students who misbehave are from the engineering branch. Since then, students of BSc computer course have also been found to be misbehaving. About 90 per cent of the examinations have been passed so far and the attendance rate of the students is more than 95 per cent. This rate is usually between 82% and 84% in offline written exams. As a result, students have responded well to the online exam and the attendance rate has increased by 10 per cent, according to the Board of Examinations and Assessment.

The use of other tools in online exams this year as well as last year; Also, some students thought that they could take the exam by doing a Google search. However, the Board of Examinations and Assessment has got the information of more than 350 students who took the screenshot in the online examination in the prescribed manner. The university has collected the PRN numbers of these students, time, what questions they had. These students are now expected to be prosecuted according to the copy case.
